A few weeks ago I was invited to take part in a pitch about the future babybell characterdesigns. Three illustrators in the pitch and an announced winning fee and worldwide, unlimited usage rights fee was to win. Luckily I was the winning illustrator but "that does not mean I won the pitch". Sounds weird, right?
No problem of saying we'll not use the work/ we'll not pay a usage fee, but the announced winning fee is a matter of honour, isn't it!? ..."obviously not in france".
I do this business for quite a few years now and its becoming more and more difficult to fool me, but
Babybels idea of company-ethics was still surprising. I was a victim of an very old piss-take of getting fresh ideas delivered for free. Well, I learned another lesson, company ethics are different in foreign countries.
I just post my stuff here just to avoid seeing any derivates of my work in future use. I'll definitely keep an eye on the "new babybell" characters...
enough complaining...lets carry on...for gods sake I still love my job...heres the stuff I came up with
